Introducing Red Deer Chiropractor Dr. Norman Hoffman
Twenty-two years ago, my dad visited his medical doctor because of severe lower back pain that was preventing him from being able to do the manual labor associated with is job. His doctor told him that there was nothing he could do for him and that he would probably end up in a wheelchair within a few years. My dad didn't accept this answer and upon the advice of a friend visited their chiropractor. Right away he experienced great relief and his back pain went away in a short time.
I attended the spinal care class given by my dad's chiropractor and was truly impressed with everything I saw. I liked the idea of being able to help peoples health without drugs and surgery. I was planning on becoming either a medical doctor or a dentist and at the age of 14 I decided that chiropractic was the perfect career for me. I am so glad I did.
Dr. Hoffman began his two year pre-chiropractic education at Red Deer College. After completing his study there, he was accepted at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. During his four years at Palmer, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, X-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care. After graduating Summa Cum Laude (with highest honors) in 1994 Dr. Hoffman returned to the central Alberta area to establish his practice.
Since graduating valedictorian with research honors, Dr. Hoffman has continued his passion for learning. He has earned certification in Sports Chiropractic, Applied Kinesiology, and Brimhall technique so that he can offer his patients the broadest range of natural health choices possible.
"I love seeing life changing results every day. I get to see patients who have lost all hope completely regain their health. I love helping children. My job means I get to see a non-verbal autistic child speak for the first time and a desperate moms face light up when her colicky baby sleeps through the night for the first time in two years, " says Dr. Hoffman.
Dr. Hoffman is married to Lynda and together they have a daughter Olivia. Olivia was born at home and has never been vaccinated or received an antibiotic. (If that sounds interesting, be sure to ask Dr. Hoffman to explain!)
"I want to be a good role model to my patients. I exercise daily, eat right, and get adjusted once a week. All of this has allowed me to lose over 40 pounds and keep it off for the last eight years. It's my goal for myself and my family to stay off prescription and non-prescription drugs and find as many natural ways to keep healthy as possible."
